I am a composer, sound designer and filmmaker originally from Iceland, currently living in London, UK.

Storytelling in all its forms, whether it is through film, music or anything broadly creative, has been my driving passion for a long time. I am lucky to say that I have spent the last 13 years working professionally as a creative in the worlds of theatre, music videos, audio drama and film.

After a BA in Philosophy and an MA in Digital Film and Television Production at the University of York, I set out to work in creative stroytelling. My proudest credits include scoring the National Youth Theatre’s production of Jekyll & Hyde at the Ambassadors Theatre in the West End, editing music videos for artists such as James Riley and The Fallen State, composing for the hilarious podcast Hector Vs the Future and making countless promotional and campaign videos for local authorities such as Westminster City Council and the London Borough of Sutton.

Why do I do both audio and video?

When I was young, I was always driven by music, film & performance, whether it was playing in bands, being in school plays, making music on the family PC or filming music videos to songs I liked and editing them together on iMovie.

I had many opportunities in my formative years to try to weed out which discipline I was “better” at or which one made me “happier”. However as time went on, the need to choose felt arbitrary; there is so much overlap between these crafts and I can be successful at all of them. Video editing is visual rhythm, music is story through sound and at the heart of it all is feeling and human texture.

I believe being skilled and practised in both gives me a unique perspective and skillset.

What is my mission statement?

I believe that we all have a responsibility to ourselves, each other and the world we live in. On its surface, this might not seem like it relates to working in creative fields. However I believe that it is vital that we as freelancers and self-employed people look out for ourselves and each other in the age of quick turnover and fast content.

For this reason, I always aim to conduct myself with compassion, understanding and fairness and I expect that of anyone whom I work with or for. This includes producing work as sustainably and ethically as possible, being mindful of all aspects of well-being and also uplifting those who need it.
